i love what i do.
My name is Kelsey Lockey. I am the owner and photographer for Pause Photography. I am so joyful that you want to take the time to read this to get to know me a bit better because I would love to get to know you as well.

My passion for photography started with a passion for people. People have always fascinated me since I was a younger. I look for genuine expressions and special moments that can't be replicated, as well as try my very best to keep everything looking clean and sharp. Some people enjoy photographing landscapes or food, but I believe my specialty is people! When I was younger and would invite my friends over, all I wanted to do was do their make-up and hair and take them to the park for a photo shoot. All I had was a tiny little digital camera, but that's all I needed. I'm glad they were my subjects and allowed me to be their itty-bitty photographer.

I took photography classes all throughout high school. It just seemed to be the only course I truly liked. After high school ended, I forgot about photography, but never forgot about people. I wrote songs that expressed my love and interest for them and still dabble in singing/songwriting today. During Junior year is when I met my husband. I decided to go to a Christian concert called "Winter Jam" of 2014 with one of my friends/photography subjects. Once we got to the concert, my friend sat by her boyfriend and I sat by his friend Chris.
Long story short, Chris and I became good friends. After a year of being friends, we started dating, then got engaged after a year of dating, and now we have been married for 3 years and we have been blessed with a now 3 year old daughter....with... another one on the way coming January 2022! Chris was very into photography at the time we were friends as well as when we were dating and has taught me a lot about the ins and outs! He now works at NewSpring Church as a video/graphic editor and has been there for a little over 2 years. The Christmas that I was pregnant with our daughter is when he bought me a Canon T3i and I was ecstatic. Shortly after, I got quickly got back into my passion for photography again and I've not looked back since and I'm excited for the future and where God takes my business.

I am so thankful for my passion for people and for photography! The passions seem to go together so well. I am so grateful that I can call this amazing hobby a job!
